Funding criteria

Before reading our guidelines in full and making an application for funding to the Anne Duchess of Westminster’s Charity, we recommend you check your organisation against this brief eligibility test to ensure you do not spend time preparing an application that does not fit within our funding criteria.

In order to apply to the Anne Duchess of Westminster’s Charity:

  1. Your organisation needs to be a charity registered with the Charity Commission, or with exclusively charitable objectives (organisations that have “exempt” or “excepted” status such as educational establishments and churches may qualify under these criteria).

  2. Unless you are an equine or horse-racing welfare organisation benefiting those in the UK, your funding request needs to benefit people within Cheshire (specifically an area within a 25 mile radius of Chester) and the Highlands of Scotland.

  3. Your funding request cannot be for an individual person, student fees/bursaries, projects /works benefiting people outside of the UK, international or overseas charities, general appeals, organisations without a charitable aim, overtly political projects, organisations that have applied to us unsuccessfully within the previous 12 months or to whom we have awarded a grant within the previous two years.

  4. Further details of who we do and do not fund can be found in application guidelines.

If you fulfill these criteria, we encourage you to read our application guidelines and apply online.
